Sensorineural factors are the ones which are related to the nerves and the fine hairs within our ear which are crucial for that reception of sound. Any factor which can harm these two things could be considered a sensorineural factor. Sensorineural factors are difficult to cure as nerve damage is often times final. There is no known cure for deafness also so knowing how to avoid this type of damage is essential.

A number one reason for sensorineural hearing problems is nerve damage which may be induced in many different ways. Illegal drug use can result in nerve damage in some instances and thus can physically traumatic experiences for example blunt force trauma. When nerves become damaged, electrical information cannot be properly received through the brain resulting in deafness. If the nerves are not badly damaged audio degeneration will ensue but not flat-out deafness.

Deep sea divers are susceptible to hearing loss as high ocean pressure may cause damage to the interior ear. Chronic exposure to this pressure is a very bad thing just like chronic exposure to exposure to noise could be. Noise pollution is really a definite cause of the growing concern of deafness.

Chronic degeneration of ones audio senses is really a condition increasingly prevalent in western culture and younger generations of people are experiencing a rise in the degeneration of their ability to hear properly.
